Aphrodite of Milos is an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Created sometime between 130 and 100 BCE and named after the Greek island of Milos, where it was discovered, it is believed to depict Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. It is a marble sculpture, slightly larger than life size at 203 cm high. Part of an arm and the original plinth were lost following its discovery. It is thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch. It is currently on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Regarding Art Classical period is subdivided into smaller periods, each one marked by social and political developments. These are the Early Classical Period (479-450BC) the Mature Classical Period (450-425BC), the Rich Style (425-380BC) and the Late Classic Period (380-323 BC).
